Why isn't your property draining properly?

In most cases the slope of your yard is off and your soil is mostly compacted clay. If there are any dips or valleys that will hold water your yard can become a mess pretty quick. North Ga Clay doesn’t help with things at all. We live in some horrible conditions during the winter rainy season and it can reek havoc on your grass and yard. There are several basic factors when your evaluating your drainage issue. First, your yards slope should be graded correctly and level any dips or high spots. Second, what kind of soil do you have? If you are in a new development you can almost guarantee the developers just put down fill dirt (dense clay). This is the worst thing to be working with. Water doesn’t seep through it and when it rains daily in the winter it makes a thick mud.

In most cases, the slope of your yard is uneven, and your soil is mostly compacted clay, which spells trouble. Any dips or low spots can quickly become waterlogged, turning your yard into a mess. North Georgia clay only adds to the challenge. We deal with tough rain throughout the year, which can wreak havoc on your grass.

When it comes to drainage issues, there are a few key points to address. First, your yard's slope must be properly graded, eliminating any dips or high spots. Second, look at your soil type. In new developments, it's common to find dense clay fill dirt, which is the toughest to work with. It doesn’t absorb water well, and with regular winter rain, it turns into a thick, muddy mess.

I rarely give a 5 star review; prompt service; knowledgeable staff. Went above and beyond and fixed our problem with sprinkler system in a timely manner. So thankful there are still American owned businesses that care about their customers. Thank you!!

Fischer Landscape has done both concrete and landscaping work for us, and they do a tremendous job. They installed a driveway extension that turned out amazing. They installed drainage pipe and river rock, sod, and performed maintenance on our irrigation system. The crew was on time and communicated with me very well. We couldn’t have been more pleased. Highly recommend them!

The owner came by continuously to check on the progress, the crew was friendly and professional. I highly recommend the folks at Fischer Landscape.
